Welcome to Midgardr Thor Warburton Bennetts was born on October 1, 2002 in Western Australia to Lisa (Swanhilda) and husband Clint. Brother to Lela, Luke and Elsie. Thor is bigger than average for his age (6 months - 10kgs) with red-blond hair and blue eyes.
Lisa, a long -standing member of the AET and our Steward for W.A. says she prayed for the spirit of Asa-Thor to enter her child on conception with the hope that her bairn may become an inspirational leader of the heathen community in his own generation. We support this prayer for the orlog that we, as the first wave of born-again heathens in this country, have layered through our efforts of revival and reconstruction of the Elder Troth. Our children are precious; let us nurture, guide and honour them for one day they may become our own ancestors through the wyrd of Rebirth. Hail baby Thor! [A blessing from Rurik, Uncle to baby Thor and spiritual brother of Swanhilda.]
Thor's mum, Lisa, is a dedicated heathen of long standing. We asked her to give us a brief statement as to why she is a heathen. What follows are the considered words of a spiritually-mature mother in the physical prime of her life ... "I can only write from my heart. I'm a heathen because I want to go back to my Ancestors when I die. Go back to where my footprints began. It's who I am now. I am my Ancestors. And I don t want to forget who I am for my children and grandchildrens sake. I am proud of our race. Our people. "A tree must have roots, otherwise the tree dies. I want to save our souls (family). I feel an inner need to preserve our Ancestors' teachings, Runes, and anything heathen. To forget our Ancestors is to be a brook without a source, a tree without roots. "Simply, I don't want my children and grandchildren to be confused on who they are. I want to share with them the beauty of our northern Gods and Myth. I know deep within my heart this will settle their soul, because it's who they are. "We are all Odin's children. Deny Odin and you deny yourself. My love for my children and kin has motivated me to where I am now. And life is good, life is sacred. "I'm just a £5 immigrant's daughter. My parents came here with seven children. When my parents and five brothers died I felt ripped off being in Australia and not having any relatives here to soothe the pain of loss. I went in search of spiritually to find out who I was. And I was lucky enough from all the pain to find Odin. And life has never been better. Our whole lives are one big Runic journey right to the end. "I have four children and two grandchildren and we all wear Thor's hammers around our necks, as does my wonderful husband Forever and ever. "Baby Thor is a new addition to our family. We named him Thor in honour of our God Thor. HOME | Articles Home | Top Of Page Images and Contents Copyright © Assembly of The Elder Troth 2002 - 2007 or as specified.
