Homecoming
(© Hrodberht)

Without food or drink I wondered, walking through forests and now upon the wind swept plains.

I am the only survivor of my family, everything was burned by unknown folk who came to plunder.

Weak from hunger and thirst I could not walk any father.

As I was in great need, I lifted my eyes toward the northern sky. I called out to Donar, " Donar help me, help me find strength to go on."

A day passed and I got much weaker. I felt as though none of my prayers
have been heard and that I was going to die here and alone.

Later I saw in the southwest a storm approaching. I felt a breeze in my hair, and rain droplets on my fact and arms, flashing lightning and the sound of distance thunder.

As I watched the storm I passed out from exhaustion. Then the sound of thunder loud with in my ears, awakening me. The wind was blowing hard soaking wet with ran and lightning dancing wildly. A strange feeling came over me, my arm hairs stood on end and a strange smell.

I opened my eyes and I saw I was in strange place. I was in a stone floored court yard. Sunna's rays where shining brightly. Looking around I saw beautiful woman sitting on a small wall surrounding a fountain that was in the middle of the court yard.

I got up and walk over to her and asked, " My I ask where I am?" I am Sibba, and you have come home. Please take a seat next to me, we have a lot to discuss.
