When the Dawn Whistles a Lonely Tune to the Wind
(© 2005 Wodhskadh Helblindi)

When the dawn whistles a lonely tune to the wind

When the sky reluctantly awakens to the unheard song

When a Valkyrie smiles quietly and blows a kiss till tonight

When the noble and the faithful, the Knight and the Knave

Alights another day to stand and live brave...

When another day, week and year passes slow

yet swiftly time springs another day of life away

When I stand and stare and stare fixatedly

And thoughts touch all things lately belatedly...

Oh Tree-Hanger, Hammermight, Sword, Horn and ForestMain

In Your Might and Care my soul is lain...

My kin a-fight for life, faith and friend

Too far today a hand there to lend

My prayer so lonely yet strong I do send

And I know this can't all die in vein...

Be strong, my kinfolk, be kind and wise

Pray thee Ansuz eyes to unlock the lies

And turn back the harm and rise from these graves

Not to Rule the world, yet neither as slaves

Be free in your blessings and disguised if its need

And follow your wake with all honour in deed

For nothing from nothing but not always as fact

yet Spinning the Lady our Layers of Fate

So be it, this Fate of the Fourwinds tonight

And never in Nine Worlds our goodness in doubt

The fiercely in Honour and WisePower's Shroud

Forever we shine with our Loves' Ancient Light
